What a journey the past five months have been.

We’re not quite there yet — but not far now — and it feels like the right time to share what’s been happening behind the scenes in my slightly bonkers world.

If you’ve followed my journey for a while, you’ll know how much I love my shop. Truly. It has been built with heart, instinct and a lot of hard work. But staying still has never really been my thing.

Before this chapter, my world looked very different. It was thoroughbred horses, huge farms and wide open spaces. Early mornings. Muddy boots. Big skies. The outdoors and animals have always been my pure loves (after my children, of course). That sense of space, purpose and building something meaningful has always driven me — so perhaps it was inevitable that I’d eventually feel the itch for something more.

With the shop running beautifully, I began to feel ready for my next challenge.

Why Peru?

The idea didn’t arrive with fireworks. It grew quietly.

After many conversations with a wonderful customer about the incredible craftsmanship coming out of South America, curiosity slowly turned into action. One afternoon in September, I sat down to “just have a little look.” By that evening, I had sent my very first email to a factory in Peru.

Why Peru?

Pima cotton.

Often called the cashmere of cotton, Pima is known for its long, silky fibres, exceptional softness and durability. It’s considered the best of the best — and if I was going to do this, I wanted to do it properly.

Why this particular factory?

It’s female-owned. A mum of four. That mattered to me. It felt aligned. It felt right.

Completely Out of My Depth (And Doing It Anyway)

Here’s the honest part: I’m not a designer. I have no formal training. No fashion degree. No background in garment development.

There were moments I felt completely out of my depth.

But I also had ideas. A clear sense of how I wanted things to feel. And on the other end, I had a team with extraordinary expertise, patience and craftsmanship. Late nights followed. A lot of learning as I went. Questions I probably worried were silly (they weren’t). Small adjustments. Big decisions.

Slowly, something beautiful began to take shape.

I had the vision. They had the technical brilliance. Together, we created something I am unbelievably proud of.

The Moment the Samples Arrived

When the first samples arrived, I nearly cried.

You can see it immediately. You can feel it even more. The weight of the fabric. The softness. The finish. The detail. The love and skill stitched into every single piece.

It stopped being an idea and became something real.

That was the moment I knew this wasn’t just a side project. It was the start of a new chapter.

Terrified — But More Afraid of Regret

Am I scared?

Yes. Petrified.

Launching something new always comes with risk. Doubt creeps in. What if it doesn’t work? What if I’ve been completely mad?

But I would be far more afraid of never trying. Of looking back and wondering what could have been.

Growth has never come from standing still.

February Is Coming

February is here — and with it, the first collection.

And somehow (even madder), the second collection is already in motion.

This has been months of quiet work, big learning curves and brave decisions. None of it would feel quite as special without this community behind me.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for supporting the shop. And thank you for coming along on this journey — wherever it leads next.
