OUR STORY
Originally launching online as Fly Jesse in 2017, the brand began to evolve and soon after we opened the doors to our Sherborne store.
We started out with unique baby and children's gifts, however we kept coming across so many other products that we loved and wanted to share with others. Therefore over the last couple of years we’ve branched out into other gifting categories for men, women and the home.
Our original name was influenced by the arrival of a new baby, our son Jesse and it fit perfectly with our offering at the time. Now the brand has matured and it only seemed right that a rebrand came with that.
The items we sell are so diverse and unique in nature and this is also true of our customers and their needs, so we wanted a name which reflected that. We were actually swimming with our twins one day and Rollo had blue stripy socks on. I said ‘how about Blue Stripes?’. It started to evolve from there. We love animals, so our eldest Rufus said ‘What about a Zebra because they are stripy?’. Just like that we became The Blue Zebra!
Each individual Zebra’s stripes are unique to them. Every Zebra is different, just like our gifts and customers!

We have four beautiful boys, Rufus, Jesse and the twins, Rollo and Otto. Not forgetting our furry little friends, Doodle, a big black Labradoodle and Behar, a Jack Russel with attitude.
For us like so many parents, it’s incredibly important to be involved in our children's lives as much as we possibly can and the business gives us the flexibility to still be close to the boys for all our amazing adventures.
Having four children has inspired our product selections over the years, everything we sell is made to last and can be passed down from generation to generation. Telling story after story.
There is nothing in our shop that we do not love and wouldn’t buy ourselves. It brings us great joy knowing our gifts are being cherished in people’s homes and lives.
