Sometimes the most magical designs come from the people we love most, and in this case, my inspiration was my son, Jesse. 💛
When I first started imagining the Golden Meadow Bubble and Golden Meadow Dress, I realised that perhaps I should have simply named them Jesse. Everything about these pieces, from the colour palette to the playful details, came from him.
Jesse has always loved yellow. It’s the colour of his sun-kissed curls, the cheerful walls of his bedroom, and the brightness of his smile. It’s the colour that feels like joy, light, and creativity, and it became the foundation for these designs.
Creativity is Jesse’s superpower. Whether he’s drawing, moulding new creations, or tending to his very own flower bed, he brings a quiet magic to everything he touches. That sense of movement and imagination inspired the flowing skirts and flutter sleeves in the Golden Meadow pieces. Playful, light, and free, just like him.
And then there’s his love for growing things. Jesse is well-known in our local garden shops, and his room is filled with plants he nurtures with pride. The sunflower and bee embroidery on the chest panels of these pieces is a nod to his curiosity, care, and his ability to nurture life, whether it’s a tiny plant or a big idea.
Before the designs ever went to production, Jesse saw them first. His tiny thumbs up was all the approval I needed before sending the designs to the factory. That moment reminded me that the best creations aren’t just about fabric or technique, they’re about love, inspiration, and the stories we carry with us.
The Golden Meadow Bubble and Dress are made with luxuriously soft interlock Pima cotton, with artisan hand embroidery crafted in Peru. But beyond the fabric and stitches, these pieces carry the joy, warmth, and creativity of a little boy who taught me how to see the world through sunshine-coloured eyes.
These are more than clothes, they are heirloom pieces, designed to be worn, loved, and passed down, just like the inspiration behind them. 🌻
